Manual Handling – A Common Source of Injury

Manual handling is a common source of injury.  For this reason, it is subject to its own regulation.  Manual handling risk needs to be assessed, factors include:-

• Load weight and bulk
• Task repetition
• Task duration
• Postures adopted
• Employee fitness for the task
